20 codesTags the provider prints in its replies without a standard code of their own.
- OFR_20xInvalid HELO/EHLO name.Orange refused your mail because the HELO/EHLO name your server announces is not valid: it must be a fully qualified domain name that resolves.
- OFR_99/103Sending IP blacklisted by Orange.Orange has put your sending IP on its own blacklist, so it refuses your mail. Codes 99 and 103 both mean this, and the way out is the Orange contact form.
- OFR_100Sending IP listed by Abusix.Orange refused your mail because your sending IP is listed on the Abusix blocklist. The listing has to be checked and removed at Abusix.
- OFR_101Sending IP listed by Spamhaus.Orange refused your mail because your sending IP is listed by Spamhaus. Check the listing at Spamhaus and have it removed there.
- OFR_102Sending IP listed by Cloudmark.Orange refused your mail because your sending IP is listed by Cloudmark. Cloudmark has its own reset request form for the IP.
- OFR_104Too many simultaneous connections.Your server opened too many connections to Orange at the same time. Orange recommends no more than two simultaneous connections per sending IP address.
- OFR_107No reverse DNS for your IP.Orange refused your mail because your sending IP has no PTR record (reverse DNS). The PTR name must resolve back to the same IP.
- OFR_109Too many messages per connection.Your server sent more messages over one SMTP connection than Orange accepts. Orange recommends at most 100 messages per connection.
- OFR_397/398SPF error for the sender domain.Orange could not use your sender domain's SPF record, because it is broken or invalid. Check the SPF TXT record of the domain.
- OFR_405Sender domain DNS error.Orange refused your mail because the domain in your MAIL FROM has no valid A or MX records in DNS.
- OFR_406/536Sender rejected.Orange rejected your sender. Codes 406 and 536 both mean this, without a public reason, and the resolution is to contact Orange.
- OFR_416Recipient does not exist. The Orange or Wanadoo address you wrote to does not exist. Orange asks senders to remove such addresses from their distribution lists.
- OFR_425Sender domain blacklisted.Orange refused your mail because your sender domain is blacklisted by Abusix or Spamhaus. The listing has to be removed at that list.
- OFR_506Message blocked as suspected spam.Orange blocked your message because its filters suspect it is spam. Orange offers a contact form and, for repeated cases, an information request through Vade.
- OFR_515DMARC failed, rejected by your policy.Your message failed DMARC, and Orange rejected it because your domain's DMARC policy asks for that.
- OFR_519Sending IP not authorised by SPF.Orange refused your mail because the sending IP is not authorised in your domain's SPF record to send for that domain.
- OFR_535DKIM signature missing.Orange rejected your message because it carries no DKIM signature. Orange makes DKIM signing mandatory for mail sent to its users.
- OFR_988Rate limited for low message reputation.Orange slowed down your messages because of a low reputation. It asks you to sign with your own DKIM domain and to try again later.
- OFR_989/990Sending domain rate limited for low reputation.Orange is limiting the rate of mail from your sending domain because of its low reputation. The resolution Orange gives is to try again later.
- OFR_991–999Rate limited for poor behaviour.Orange is rate limiting your mail because of what it calls poor or inappropriate behaviour. Check what you are sending, or try again later.
