Who has to act
The sender. The fix is on the sending side: your domain, your server or your list.

What it means

Code 425 is the domain counterpart of the IP codes 100 and 101. Orange found your sender domain on the Abusix or the Spamhaus blocklist and refused the mail. The resolution is to look the domain up at both, lookup.abusix.com and check.spamhaus.org, see which list holds it and why, and follow that list removal process. Orange advises checking the domain as well as the IP regularly, so a listing is caught before your mail starts bouncing.

Common causes

  • The domain was used in spam, by you or by someone forging it.
  • Links to the domain appeared in spam.
  • The domain is new and shares traits these lists associate with abuse.

How to fix it

  1. 01Look the domain up at lookup.abusix.com and check.spamhaus.org.
  2. 02Fix the cause given and request removal from the list that holds it.
  3. 03Protect the domain with SPF, DKIM and DMARC to make forging it harder.
