What the server says
Trop de connexions, veuillez verifier votre configuration. Too many connections, slow down.

What it means

Orange puts its own code at the end of each rejection, after a prefix that varies: in "OFR002_104" the code is 104, and Orange uses this very message as its example. Code 104 means your server is opening too many simultaneous connections. The Orange postmaster page recommends up to two simultaneous connections per sending IP, 100 messages per connection and 100 recipients per message, and warns that different limits may apply depending on your reputation. Lower your concurrency toward Orange before sending again.

Common causes

  • Your server opens many parallel connections to the Orange mail servers.
  • Several servers or processes share one IP and connect to Orange at once.
  • Your reputation at Orange is low, so a stricter limit applies to you.

How to fix it

  1. 01Limit your server to two simultaneous connections per IP toward orange.fr and wanadoo.fr.
  2. 02Send several messages over each connection, up to the 100 per connection Orange recommends.
  3. 03Once the concurrency is lower, make sure the refused messages are retried or sent again.
  4. 04If the problem continues after the fix, use the Orange contact form linked from its postmaster page and choose the option "Un problème d'envoi d'emails vers les adresses Orange ou Wanadoo (deliverability issue)".
