- The sender. The fix is on the sending side: your domain, your server or your list.
What it means
Codes 406 and 536 carry the same short explanation in the Orange table: your sender has been rejected. The page says nothing more about why, and its only resolution is to contact Orange through the form linked from its postmaster page, choosing the deliverability option. Before writing, it helps to check the points Orange lists for every sender: a static IP with a valid PTR record, a fully qualified HELO, SPF, DKIM and DMARC that pass, and no listing on Abusix, Spamhaus or Cloudmark.
Common causes
- Orange has blocked the sender address or domain after problems it observed.
- Mail from the sender drew complaints or broke the Orange guidelines.
How to fix it
- 01Check your setup against the Orange delivery guidelines.
- 02Check the sender domain and IP on Abusix, Spamhaus and Cloudmark.
- 03If the problem continues after the fix, use the Orange contact form linked from its postmaster page and choose the option "Un problème d'envoi d'emails vers les adresses Orange ou Wanadoo (deliverability issue)".
