Module 3 · Lesson 9 of 37

Shared vs. Dedicated IPs

Part of The Complete Email Deliverability Course — IP & Domain Reputation.

Use shared IP when:

  • Sending < 100,000 emails/month
  • Sending irregularly or just starting out
  • No warmup needed, benefit from ESP's pool

Use dedicated IP when:

  • Sending > 100,000-250,000 emails/month consistently
  • Need full control over reputation
  • Must warm over 2-4 weeks

⚠️ If you go 30+ days without sending, reputation data is lost and you'll need to re-warm.
