Sender Score

A free 0 to 100 reputation score for sending IP addresses, created by Return Path and now offered by Validity, built from that company's own data network.

What it means

Validity describes Sender Score as a free credit rating for an IP address, a score from zero to 100. M3AAWG's sender practices list it among reputation monitoring tools and describe it as using complaints, trap hits and deliverability data from mailbox providers and message security companies to generate an IP's score.

The score is Validity's estimate, not a provider's verdict: Gmail, Microsoft and Yahoo keep their own reputations and do not publish a number. It is useful as an outside view of an IP, especially one you have just been assigned, and as a trend.

It rates IP addresses, so it says nothing direct about your domain's reputation, which matters as much at the large providers.
