Barracuda Reputation Block List

Barracuda Networks' IP reputation list, maintained by Barracuda Central from spam traps and other systems and used by its email gateways to block poorly rated senders.

What it means

Barracuda describes Barracuda Reputation as a database maintained by Barracuda Central, listing IP addresses of known good senders as well as known spammers or addresses with a poor reputation. The data comes from spam traps and other systems across the internet, and the sending history of each IP is analysed to judge how likely legitimate mail is from it. Barracuda's Email Gateway Defense documentation strongly recommends turning on the Barracuda Reputation Block List (BRBL).

Because Barracuda gateways filter mail for many companies, a BRBL listing shows up as rejections at business recipients.

Lookups and removal requests are on BarracudaCentral.org; the removal form asks for the IP address and contact details. Fix the cause before requesting removal.
