- Tier
- Widely used. Referenced by many corporate filters and ISPs, usually as one signal among several. A listing costs you some recipients, and a scan reports it as a warning.
- What it lists
- Domains (not IPs) that appear in the body/URLs of spam messages.
- Impact
- High: used by many content-based spam filters. A listing means your domain URLs in emails trigger spam filters.
- How to check
- Look your IP up on the operator's own site. It refuses queries sent through public resolvers, so a free checker may not see it.
- How to delist
- 5 steps below, ending on the list's removal page.
- Auto-expiry
- Does not auto-expire. Requires manual false-positive submission.
How to get delisted
- 01Use the SURBL analysis tool to check if your domain is listed
- 02Determine how your domain ended up in spam messages (compromised site, affiliate abuse, etc.)
- 03Resolve the underlying issue
- 04Submit a false-positive report if you believe the listing is in error
- 05SURBL reviews removal requests manually
