Gmail clipping

Gmail cutting a long email short and showing [Message clipped] with a link to the full message, which senders observe at about 102 KB of HTML.

What it means

When an email's HTML is too large, Gmail displays only the first part, followed by a link to view the entire message. Google does not document the threshold; senders widely observe it at about 102 KB, the figure Mailchimp's help gives. What falls past the cut stays hidden until the reader clicks, often the footer and its unsubscribe link, and an open-tracking pixel placed at the end does not load.

The usual causes are verbose HTML from builders, long inline styles repeated on every element, embedded base64 images and hidden text. Removing comments and extra whitespace, avoiding repeated styles and hosting images rather than embedding them can bring a message back under the limit.
