Received-SPF
A trace header a receiving server adds to record the SPF result it reached for a message, with the IP address and identity it checked.
What it means
RFC 7208 defines Received-SPF as one of two ways to pass an SPF result to later processing; the other is the Authentication-Results header. The receiver prepends it at the top of the message, and it carries the result (pass, fail, softfail and so on), a comment, and key-value pairs such as client-ip, envelope-from and helo.
When reading headers, a Received-SPF line tells you which IP address was tested and against which domain, which is the first thing to know when SPF fails unexpectedly. A receiver may add either header or both.
Example
Received-SPF: pass (mx.example.net: domain of bounce@example.com designates 192.0.2.10 as permitted sender) client-ip=192.0.2.10; envelope-from=bounce@example.com; helo=mail.example.com;Related terms
