What it means

Microsoft documents 554 5.2.0 STOREDRV.Deliver.Exception with MapiExceptionNotFound and the message Cannot get ID from name for one cause: the Clutter feature is enabled for the user, yet the Clutter folder is missing from the mailbox. Delivery then fails for people writing to that mailbox, including through distribution groups. The workaround is to turn Clutter off for the user, in Outlook on the web or with Set-Clutter in Exchange Online PowerShell.

Common causes

  • Clutter is enabled for the recipient.
  • The recipient's Clutter folder is missing from the mailbox.

How to fix it

  1. 01Tell the recipient or their admin; the sender cannot fix it.
  2. 02The recipient can clear Separate items identified as clutter in the Outlook on the web settings.
  3. 03Admins: run Get-Mailbox user@contoso.com | Set-Clutter -Enable $false in Exchange Online PowerShell.
